The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin will allow players to tackle the world of the hit anime series alone or in up to four-player co-op mode, as revealed at the September 2025 PlayStation State of Play live stream showcase. Featuring different game modes and areas that will cater to both types of gameplay, The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin looks to feature a variety of gameplay when it launches in early 2026.
Fans of the anime and manga series already got their first looks at The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin‘s gameplay during Gamescom 2025 in August. Planned for launch on January 28, 2026, on PlayStation 5, PC, and mobile devices, the original trailer featured appearances from several of the series’ popular characters but revealed that the central story would focus on Prince Tristan, the teenage son of main-story protagonist Meliodas and Elizabeth.
The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin Features Single and Co-Op Modes
Now, a new trailer has been revealed at the September 24 State of Play showcase, giving players even more information about what to expect from the upcoming game. The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin will feature an original story that was not told by the manga or the anime, with a single-player campaign that will see players assuming the role of Tristan as he explores the world of Britannia. In this mode, players will have a certain degree of control over the world, as they can gather resources, craft and place items, and participate in activities like fishing and capturing creatures in an open-world setting, in addition to engaging in combat.
Along with the campaign, players will be able to participate in dungeon raids with up to three others at a time. The full list of Seven Deadly Sins characters that will be available in this mode has not been revealed yet, but it looks like they will span the course of the series and not just involve Tristan’s late-story allies. Along with his Knights of the Apocalypse-arc friends, the trailer shows off several popular characters from the series’ earlier days who appear to be playable, including King, Merlin, and Tristan’s own father, Meliodas, each with their own skills and combat styles.
Pre-Registration for the game is currently available on all platforms via the game’s official website, and sign-ups for the official closed beta are also an option, having first been listed in late August.
