According to , the Rossoneri have entered negotiations with United to bring Hojlund to San Siro on loan for the 2025-26 season. The Red Devils are open to letting the Danish striker leave after just two years in England, where he has struggled for form. The arrivals of Matheus Cunha and potentially Benjamin Sesko have further reduced his chances of regular playing time. Milan are willing to cover his full salary of around €4 million per year but are seeking to limit the loan fee.

The 22-year-old joined United from Atalanta in 2023 for €70m (£60m/$77m) plus bonuses, arriving with high expectations after a breakout season in Serie A. However, inconsistent performances, injuries and tactical changes have hampered his progress. Milan see him as a strong fit for their attack and a lower-cost alternative to other targets like Dusan Vlahovic, whose signing would be more expensive and riskier financially.
