Crystal Palace are reportedly considering a bid for Chelsea's Trevoh Chalobah as a potential replacement for Newcastle United target Marc Guehi.

According to , Chalobah and Wolfsburg's Maxence Lacroix are of interest to Palace – with the latter previously working under Eagles head coach Oliver Glasner. The report adds the former France Under-20 international is in the last year of his contract, while Chalobah may be available for approximately £25 million ($31.7m).

Chalobah has been in limbo ever since being left out of Chelsea's pre-season tour to America, but their defensive issues have not gone away with his exclusion. A fresh start may be the best thing for his career, while Palace are looking to prepare themselves for a season without Guehi – who is nearing a move to Newcastle. The Eagles need to be careful, however, after already selling star winger Michael Olise to Bayern Munich earlier this summer.

The 25-year-old Blues academy product turned down a move to Nottingham Forest last year and still has four more years left on his Stamford Bridge contract.
