The Friedkin Group completed their Everton takeover just last month and have already dismissed Dyche and have now appointed Moyes. The Scot, who left West Ham at the end of last season, will hope to fire the Merseyside team up the Premier League table and give fans something to cheer about as they prepare to move from Goodison Park to their new stadium next season.

During Moyes' time at Everton, the 61-year-old guided them to the qualifying rounds of the Champions League in 2005 and the FA Cup final in 2009. Incidentally, Dyche paid the price for Everton's run of just one win from their last 11 games – leaving them in 16th and just a point above the relegation zone.
